Sports Festival : Ragnarok

The Sports Fest was started by CEBS students in 2009 to create a platform for excelling in sports. The sports week became official with the name Ragnarok. It is traditionally organized by the fresher batch with help from second-year students. In addition to games like badminton, table tennis, carrom and chess, sports like cricket, football and volleyball are part of this fest.

IISM 2019

The Inter IISER Sports Meet (IISM), 2019 was held in IISER Pune from 9th to 15th December, where UM-DAE CEBS sent a contingent of 43 athletes. The students participated in both individual and team events. The various sports where CEBS participated included cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess and athletics. In athletics, Manush M. of 4th year won two silver medals. One of the medals was in the 5000 m race and the other one in 10000 m race. Despite winning games in football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and chess; our teams were unable to secure a medal position in game events even though their performances were respectable and won hearts of other participating institutes.

About Us

CEBS was set up by the Department of Atomic Energy and the University of Mumbai in 2007. CEBS offers a 5 year integrated MSc program in Basic Sciences, with undergraduate teaching embedded in a postgraduate and research environment, for students who have completed 10+2 schooling or its equivalent.
