With the ongoing expansion in research and technology, it is imperative for teaching and research organizations to have a well-equipped and user-friendly library, which caters to its undergraduate and graduate students, academics and the international research community. In view of this, the CBS library consists of books, online journals, periodicals and multimedia DVDs of relevant academic material in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science etc. In addition to the core subjects, it also includes sections on Literature, History of Science and Mathematics, World Literature, Fiction, and popular science. Presently the library has a collection of several thousand books and periodicals in print.

One of the remarkable thing about the print collection is the availability of wide range of books from world renowned Science and Technology Publishers like Oxford University Press, Berkeley Series, John Wiley & Sons, North-Holland Press, Plenum Press, Tata-McGraw Hill, Addison Weasley, Chapman and Hall etc. The library also subscribes to periodicals and science magazines like Current Science, Resonance, and various other magazines about general awareness, health, economy, education, sports and current affairs.

Presently, it subscribes to several online journals from eminent and reputed publishers like Elsevier, APS, ACS, AIP, IOP, Nature Publishing Group (NPG), Royal Society of Chemistry, Wiley, JSTOR, MathSciNet.

The library also subscribes to several important Archives from some of the above mentioned publishers. Mention may be made of ACS Legacy Archive, PROLA from APS, IOP Electronic Journals Archive, Nature Publishing Group journals etc. CEBS library has obtained many e-resources through Inflibnet and DAE consortia.

To make the library user-friendly and easily accessible to its patrons, computers with internet connection have been installed for users to browse the library catalog and online resources. It has been planned to introduce Digital Library Software LSEase from Libsys to fully automate its services. The OPAC search is available with a very powerful search engine.

CEBS library members can then use their membership account and RFID cards to search, issue, renew and reserve books online. Barcode is under implementation to make it a digital library in the true sense of the term.

Reading room, Xerox and printing facilities are available within the Library premises.

In the coming years, the facilities available in the Library will be expanded further, taking the needs of the growing organization into account. Books and other content are continuously added to our holdings with a view to provide the most valuable source of information for all the users.
