A Brief Introduction: Vijay A. Singh
Prof. Vijay A. Singh is a physicist with an interest in philosophy, history of Indian Mathematics and science education and popularization in rural India. Currently, Visiting Professor, CEBS, Mumbai, he has been President, Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), 2019-2021, faculty IIT Kanpur (1984-2004) and HBCSE, Tata Institute for Fundamental Research (2004-2015). He was also the National Coordinator, Science Olympiads (2003-2014) and the National Initiative on Undergraduate Physics (NIUS 2004-2012), each for over a decade. His doctoral degree is from SUNY- Albany USA (1978) under Prof. Laura Roth and he has worked there for over 5 years notably at the Solar Energy Research Institute, Colorado (now NREL). He has over 175 peer reviewed publications in various branches of Physics. One of his passions is to guide high school and undergraduate students to carry out quality science research and he has over 30 international publications with them. Another passion is to design science problems around everyday occurrences.
